Capital Wood Products is proud to be Forest Stewarship Council (FSC) Certified. We have worked hard to attain our FSC status, and look forward to participation in construction and development projects that reflect a commitment to sustainable, renewable and responsible building practices.

For FSC certification means that products are available from FSC certified forests. The FSC is an independent, third-party certification organization that sets high standards to ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable way.

Companies who manufacture or trade FSC certified products, like Capital Wood Products, assume the credibility of claims on products, and must prove the ability to track materials as they leave the forest and are used in construction or development. This "chain of custody" (COC) certification process allows products to be segregated and identified as having come from a FSC certified forest.

FSC’s model of certification allows products that flow from certified forests to enter the marketplace with a credential that is unique. Any FSC labeled product can be traced back to a certified source. This aspect of the system is the basis for any credible certification system and is the link between consumer preference and responsible, on the ground forest management.
